Our organization provides funding for a wide range of equipment in order to improve the quality of life and mobility for individuals with disabilities. We will consider even the most specialized equipment if it has the potential to make a difference in someone’s life.

Our mandate is to support adults in British Columbia living with a wide range of physical disabilities, including but not limited to:

  • Acquired Brain Injury
  • ALS
  • Amputation
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Polio

Funding is granted based on a combination of factors, including severe need and an inability to obtain the necessary funding and equipment through other means. Approved applications typically address the following areas:

  • Assessment of the applicant’s financial need
  • Type of disability
  • How the equipment request will improve the applicant’s quality of life and increase personal independence
  • Determine if the applicant has explored other avenues of funding
  • Review how long the equipment will meet the client’s need
  • All applicants must provide two or more quotes (from different vendors) for the requested equipment
  • A letter of support and/or assessment from a healthcare practitioner (e.g. doctor, occupational therapist, physiotherapist)

FAQs

Is there a date an application needs to be completed by?

No. We accept applications for funding throughout the year. Our Volunteer Executive Director receives all applications and provides them to our board regularly.

Who can I direct questions to?

Don’t hesitate to get in touch using our contact form and someone will get back to you asap.

Why do you have funding limits?

We are committed to supporting as many individuals in need as possible. While we would like to grant funding to every applicant, our funds are limited.

Can I obtain additional funding from other organizations as well?

We encourage you to apply for funding from all eligible sources. In some cases, we may be able to contribute towards the cost of the equipment in partnership with other organizations.
